Revolution vs. Sporting KC 2014: Lineups and Live Thread Part Deux

The Revolution kick off against Sporting KC at 7:30 PM in Foxboro. Jermaine Jones makes his Gillette debut and his first MLS start.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

The New England Revolution and Sporting Kansas City are all set to face each other on Wednesday night in Foxboro in what will be their second meeting of the season. The Revs have put together a two-match winning streak as they attempt to banish the demons of their ten-match midsummer unbeaten run, while Kansas City is reeling after back-to-back losses.

Clearly, Jermaine Jones is the big news. The USA midfielder has been pressed into service, starting in the center of midfield in place of the suspended Scott Caldwell. It seems a little sudden for the new signing to be putting in a shift from the opening whistle, but with no other direct replacements, this is probably Jay Heaps' best option. Expect to see him substituted shortly after the half.
