Revolution Reportedly Heading to Arizona for Preseason

It looks like the New England Revolution will be swapping the cold New England air for something much warmer this preseason as reports claim that the team will be spending time in Arizona.

The first stop of the Arizona preseason tour will be Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, AZ. The team is slated to use these facilities from Jan. 24 to Feb. 6, according to the Casa Grande Dispatch. The article notes that practices and matches will be open to the public.

The Revs last visited Casa Grande in 2013 when they played preseason friendlies against Sporting KC and the Vancouver Whitecaps. It’s unknown who the Revs will face this year.

The trip to Casa Grande will be followed by participation in the Desert Diamond Cup in Tucson, AZ. The tournament will run from Feb. 18-28 and will include the Colorado Rapids, Seattle Sounders, Sporting KC, Real Salt Lake and local PDL side FC Tucson.

The Revolution have attended the Desert Diamond Cup since 2012. That year, the Revs lost in penalties to the LA Galaxy. Fans interested in traveling to this year’s edition of the tournament should visit http://www.mlspreseason.com/ for ticket information.
