Revolution vs. Crew 2014 Eastern Conference Semi-Final Leg 1: Lineups and Live Thread

The Revolution kick off their first playoff action of 2014 against the red-hot Columbus Crew in the first leg of their Eastern Conference Semi-Final match-up.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Playoff soccer is upon us as the New England Revolution line up against the Columbus Crew in an MLS originals clash in Ohio. This match is the first leg of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, the same round where the Revs' 2013 playoff run ended. Another wrinkle in the match-up is the new inclusion of the away goals rule, common in other leagues but not previously a part of the MLS playoff format.

With his entire first-team roster available, Jay Heaps went with a predictable and effective lineup. He is sticking with the 4-2-3-1 formation that has propelled the Revs to a molten-hot run of form since the arrival of Jermaine Jones, electing to go with Scott Caldwell in the starting lineup over Daigo Kobayashi, who will almost certainly feature as a substitute.

Join the live thread below and discuss the action as it unfolds!
