Patriots, Bruins and Celtics STAND with the Revolution

Is your city's NFL, NBA and NHL team backing your MLS side's playoff run? No? That's a shame.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

I am by no means a "Boston/New England" sports fan, the only team happen to root for in the area would be the New England Revolution.

Regardless, the three #STAND promotional videos with the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins that the Revs put out this week are awesome for a lot of reasons:

1. We can now have lively debates on where Gronk should line up on the soccer pitch and I'm torn between sweeper-keeper and target forward.

2.Since Jay Heaps used to play basketball, should we demand that he play against Celtics head coach Brad Stevens for charity?

3. Do the Bruins drop the gloves while watching international soccer friendlies and just how much gloating did defenseman Dennis Seidenberg do after Germany won the World Cup?

4. I get to harass my dad and wonder where the Red Sox are that they weren't available to do their own video...(his response was the same place the New York Yankees are, the golf course).

Anyway, if you have watched the videos yet, they're fairly short, maybe 30 seconds each and I haven't seen any other team do this in MLS. Of course, it's not exactly fair that the Revs and Pats are in the same building and the same guy is writing the paychecks but going out and getting the Bruins and Celtics as well is a neat touch. Well done Revs.

Patriots: Devin McCourty, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman
