Revolution 1-1 Toronto: Player Ratings and Man of the Match

Bet you thought we were done with these, but we are not! Here are our views on the performance put in last Friday. Steve, Corey, and Jake submitted ratings.

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Reis: Average Rating - 4.83 (Steve 5, Corey 4.5, Jake 5)

Steve: No saves, one goal allowed, distribution shaky with a lot of boots out of bounds. Commanded on crosses well, though...Corey: I'm ready for Bobby again. Reis underwhelmed me in this one and was showing his age a bit. Wasn't organizing his backline very well...Jake: I can't fault him for the goal, but at times that might have been the most disorganized backline the Revs have had all year. I know GKs don't have the best passing numbers, but Bobby doesn't boom them out of bounds that often does he?

Chris Tierney: Average Rating - 6 (Steve 6, Corey 6, Jake 6)

Steve: So solid on the night. Decent passing, perfect on throws, reliable defensively...Corey: A good outing from Tierney. More involved in the attack, at least in the first half. Was SOLID defensively throughout. His clearance was clearly handled in the box by a TFC player...Jake: We are taking for granted just how consistent this guy is right now, on both sides of the ball.

Jose Goncalves: Average Rating - 6.83 (Steve 6, Corey 7.5, Jake 7)

Steve: Defensive monster, per usual. Would have liked to see a tad more command while ball was scrambling in the box, but not to blame for goal...Corey: Straight up kept us in this game...Jake: Favorite stat from this game, JoGo had two fouls drawn, zero committed. But he's not an All-Star defender.

A.J. Soares: Average Rating - 6 (Steve 5.5, Corey 6, Jake 6.5)

Steve: Read the game well, made one of the prettiest tackles I've ever seen in the game of soccer. But ball-watched on the goal and needs to play the whistle at all times...Corey: Had a good enough night to keep the starting spot for now. Play to the whistle, dude. ALWAYS...Jake: Better passing numbers, best tackle of the game. Clearly earning his minutes right now.

Andrew Farrell: Average Rating - 5.5 (Steve 5, Corey 5.5, Jake 6)

Steve: Overall numbers evened out well, but we're seeing his decision-making errors more and more often. Long professional season likely catching up to him at this point...Corey: Was active going forward, but needs to make better decisions. Needs to work on crossing, too. Was all alone on the right once Barrett was subbed off...Jake: Solid defensively, getting forward more, but that 30-yard mishit cross might count on OPTA, but we know the truth.

Scott Caldwell: Average Rating - 5 (Steve 5, Corey 5, Jake 5)

Steve: It's telling that a sloppy game from Scott includes just nine missed passes, but he got physically outmatched all night and it showed...Corey: Again, this kid needs to throw his body around a bit more. Never goes for headers and doesn't stand-up attackers, ever. Just covers the runs. Time to get physical, Scotty...Jake: There are games when the Revs need a midfield enforcer, even off the bench. Again, this was one of them.

Diego Fagundez: Average Rating - 5.33 (Steve 5.5, Corey 5.5, Jake 5)

Steve: How does one get rated so low when he scores? By fading into complete obscurity after about the tenth minute. Might not be totally his fault, the entire team turtled at about that time...Corey: Shined bright early on. Then completely disappeared for the rest of the game...Jake: Cool finish, not much after that. How does a team playing a 4-3-3 lose width? When the width does NOT STAY OUT WIDE.

Lee Nguyen: Average Rating - 6 (Steve 5.5, Corey 6.5, Jake 6)

Steve: One of the few midfielders with bite on the evening, and saw a lot of the ball. Limited effectiveness, though, and probably should have reined it in a bit...Corey: Provided the physicality in the midfield that Caldwell lacks (and they're the same size). Early yellow made it difficult for him to influence the game much...Jake: Still figuring out if he should've saw red in the second half. Needs to play a little higher at times.

Kelyn Rowe: Average Rating - 5.67 (Steve 5, Corey 6, Jake 6)

Steve: His involvement early was good, but needs to temper his confidence in his ranged shots. Sloppy with the ball, too...Corey: Tried to do too much. Passing was sloppy at times. Couldn't get involved. Wasted a couple chances...Jake: Great work staying with his shot that eventually was passed to Diego

Chad Barrett: Average Rating - 5 (Steve 4.5, Corey 5.5, Jake 5)

Steve: Not enough involvement, and his touch is still horrid. Only saving grace is his work rate, but even that wasn't really out there to be seen...Corey: Wasn't very involved, but mixed around with Digeo & Juan to keep defenders guessing. Tracked back well on defense...Jake: Hardly saw the ball, too often gets lost on the right side in this formation despite his work rate.

Juan Agudelo: Average Rating - 5.5 (Steve 5, Corey 6.5, Jake 5)

Steve: Clearly frustrated by Toronto's fouling and the ref's inconsistency, but can't be letting that affect him. Toothless toward goal...Corey: It was a hot and cold game for him. Clearly distracted by you know what...Jake: If he spent as much time playing soccer as he did arguing, Revs might have pulled that one out.

Dimitry Imbongo (sub): Average Rating - 4.33 (Steve 4, Corey 5, Jake 4)

Steve: Heavily involved for a sub, but lost the ball constantly, both passing and dribbling. Eventually you need to realize the stepovers aren't working, pal...Corey: Not good enough...Jake: When you come into the game and I don't know what position you're playing, bad sign. Again with the cards, tactical foul or no, he's gotta stop.

Saer Sene (sub): Average Rating - 3.83 (Steve 4, Corey 3.5, Jake 4)

Steve: Not very involved, but he should have come in much earlier. Struggled to impact the game...Corey: Completely useless...Jake: Should've been brought in earlier with the injury to Agudelo. Never found the game.

Charlie Davies (sub) - N/A
