The New England Revolution (10-11-7) host conference rivals D.C. United (3-19-6) in what is an absolute, no-excuses must-win match which could potentially see the Revs return to playoff position. Their place in the standings will largely depend on the result of the Columbus Crew vs. Chicago Fire game, but nevertheless they must seize all 3 points from United if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
D.C. come into Gillette Stadium off a gritty 2-2 tie with the LA Galaxy, and will hope to play spoiler to their I-95 rivals with any sort of result tonight. The Revs will be hoping to correct the mistakes they made last weekend in their loss to Chicago (and will hope for less questionable refereeing), and should be aiming for a dominant win--they simply cannot afford to struggle against United as they have previously this season.
The Revs will be out the services of Ryan Guy, Clyde Simms, Kevin Alston, Luis Soffner, and Gabe Latigue, who are all listed as 'OUT', while forward Juan Agudelo remains on this week's injury list as 'Questionable'. Also worth noting is that Kelyn Rowe, Lee Nguyen, and Dimitry Imbongo could all face a one game suspension if they pick up yellow cards in tonights match, which could severely affect their chances next week against the Houston Dynamo, another must-win.
