The New England Revolution are about to step up and face off against the Chicago Fire in perhaps the most vital playoff-related match they've played to date. The Fire are in seventh, but stand just two points off of the Revs on equal games played. A win for New England keeps them in fifth for another week and puts the Fire in a hole, a draw opens the door for Houston to leap frog the Revs, and a loss does that, plus puts Chicago ahead.
Jay Heaps took a long, hard look at the Montreal loss and made the appropriate changes. Bobby Shuttleworth replaces the suspended Reis, while Stephen McCarthy deservedly gets his starting place back over A.J. Soares. Saer Sene is also back in the starting lineup, replacing Chad Barrett. Dimitry Imbongo earns the start, but Juan Agudelo did make the bench. A league pool goalkeeper appears to be backing up Shuttleworth on the bench.
