Revolution 2-0 Earthquakes: Player Ratings and Man of the Match

The Revolution swept aside the Earthquakes on Saturday night in a match that really could have been won by three or four goals instead of just two. Corey and Jake submitted their player performance ratings from the match.

Bobby Shuttleworth: Average Rating - 6 (Corey 6, Jake 6)

Corey: I'd like to give him a higher rating, but he just simply wasn't tested very much by the Quakes. Still, another shutout to brag about...Jake: Had one frantic moment in the second half cleared away by JoGo, but otherwise was really untested.

Chris Tierney: Average Rating - 6.5 (Corey 6.5, Jake 6.5)

Corey: A great game. He made some crucial stops/blocks on defense and was excellent in the attack. His stats don't do him justice in this one...Jake: He's getting so ridiculously consistent that even his quiet games are solid.

Jose Goncalves: Average Rating - 8 (Corey 8, Jake 8)

Corey: Great as usual. I don't recall any glaring mistakes whatsoever...Jake: Alan Gordon usually dishes out punishment to the rest of MLS. Saturday, JoGo gave him a taste of his own medicine.

Stephen McCarthy: Average Rating - 7.5 (Corey 8, Jake 7)

Corey: Looked sharp and focused. Very nice showing...Jake: Excellent distribution, clears everything that moves. And the rest of MLS probably still doesn't know who he is.

Andrew Farrell: Average Rating - 6.5 (Corey 7, Jake 6)

Corey: Absolutely robbed of a goal. Had an excellent game...Jake: Silly yellow brings him down a bit, but he seems a little more comfortable moving forward, Jon Busch's Save of the Year nominee kept him from scoring his first MLS Goal.

Scott Caldwell: Average Rating - 6.75 (Corey 7, Jake 6.5)

Corey: I'm officially part of the Scott Caldwell fanclub. He's looking more and more comfortable...Jake: Didn't see a ton of the ball, but still hardly ever misses a pass, really embraced the defensive part of his position in the game.

Diego Fagundez: Average Rating - 6 (Corey 6.5, Jake 5.5)

Corey: Could have been more involved, but played well nonetheless...Jake: He was the odd man out in a very active midfield, a little sloppy passing. It was his pass that set up Sene's first long range effort before Sene buried his second chance seconds later.

Kelyn Rowe: Average Rating - 7 (Corey 7.5, Jake 6.5)

Corey: Awesome game from the mighty Kelyn Rowe. Having a great season, and this game was very good for him...Jake: He just causes havoc for defenses and is quietly one of the more creative passers in MLS.

Lee Nguyen: Average Rating - 8.25 (Corey 8.5, Jake 8)

Corey: I said it in the live thread and I'll say it again: When Nguyen plays well, the Revs play well. Bravo...Jake: First assist was simple, second was brilliant. One of his best all-around games, assists aside, of the season.

Saer Sene: Average Rating - 8 (Corey 8, Jake 8)

Corey: When you compare last week vs. this week it is truly night and day. Sene came out to play, and he played 90 minutes like a BOSS. Nice to see 2012 Saer Sene make an appearance this season...Jake: That's what we want from the big man out wide, giving the Revs rebounds to pounce on.

Chad Barrett: Average Rating - 7 (Corey 7, Jake 7)

Corey: Thought that Barrett was very impressive and did a great job with his opportunity. It's a shame he couldn't connect with Diego on those couple chances, but he was hungry and energetic all night...Jake: As hard working as a lone striker should be, Barrett took his chance and aside from finishing, capitalized on the opportunity.

Dimitry Imbongo (sub): Average Rating - 6.75 (Corey 6.5, Jake 7)

Corey: Did exactly what he needed to do, and that was score the security goal. Going to be tough to choose between him and Barrett while Agudelo is out...Jake: The rest of MLS clearly hates New England, because after dealing with Barrett for over an hour, then you get Imbongo. Neat, deserved finish for the second goal.

Juan Toja (sub): Average Rating - N/A (Not enough time to make an impact)
