The Revolution have agreed on a partnership deal with Connecticut Football Club that will see elite training programs and instructions from the Revolution available to CFC youth players and coaches. CFC coaches and players will also be able to watch Revolution home games and train in the Revolution's training facility through a special ticking program.
This deal also lets CFC host Rev's Academy's regional development schools and training centers worldwide. While the Revs will be able to run "Team Academy" programs for the various age groups of CFC.
This is another invaluable step for the Revolution in integrating with the grassroots aspect of football and providing a professional level of training to aspiring soccer players: a movement that not only strengthens the Revolution youth system, but MLS as a whole.
David Apajee, the Revolution's Academy director praises the partnership, saying: "We are extremely excited to partner with the Connecticut Football Club, one of the premier youth soccer clubs in the New England region."
He goes on to explain more about what the deal entails, "This partnership not only allows the Revolution Academy to work alongside a great group of coaches who have been very successful in developing players for the next level, but also gives Connecticut's youth players the ability to work with coaches from Revolution youth teams and training programs throughout the year. We hope to compliment and increase the success that CFC has had with our player development programs, player identification events and coach education seminars."
Stephen Coxon, the President of CFC echoes Apajee's comments: "We are delighted to partner with one of the top U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Programs in the nation. CFC is continuously looking for ways to enhance our programming in order to offer more to our players, parents, coaches and staff. This relationship with New England's only MLS club will accomplish that goal."
The Revolution have made very strong sides in youth development in the past few weeks, first announcing the deal with Rochester Rhinos --who they recently played in the U.S Open Cup and now-- this deal with CFC can only be a signal of more great things to come for all teams involved and MLS. Another victory for all teams involved and most of all, the youth.
