Here we go! US Open Cup 2013! It's finally the Revolution's turn to enter the competition and try to make amends for their embarrassing knock-out defeat last year against Harrisburg. The Revs are turning out a lineup that's a bit of a mix of experience and youth, but there should be more than enough quality out there to see our affiliates out.
Conditions apparently aren't great, but the Rochester twitter account did say there wasn't any rain falling, so conditions should be fair. Sahlen's Stadium is a pretty good facility, too, so the Revs won't have to worry much about divots, dead grass, and poorly-maintained playing surfaces.
If the Revs win here, they should be facing the winner of New York vs. Reading United in the next round.
