Bobby Shuttleworth: Average Rating - 4 (Corey 4, Matty 4, Abram 4)
Corey: Actually had some good looking saves, but was not communicative enough which of course let to the defense being on different pages all night. Also, definitely should have been given a yellow for bringing Henry down in the box. That looked like a penalty ALL DAY to me...Matty: Still commands well. Last two goals aren't on him at all...Abram: Second goal was his fault, went in hard a few times, left out to dry twice.
Chris Tierney: Average Rating - 4 (Corey 4, Matty 3.5, Abram 4.5)
Corey: Service looked better but was beat over and over. LB still a weak part of this "stout" defense...Matty: Better service, but you just see how big a gap in defensively quality there is between him and Alston...Abram: Decent service, which is a fair bit of an improvement. Goals did not come from his side.
Jose Goncalves: Average Rating - 5 (Corey 5, Matty 4.5, Abram 5.5)
Corey: Looked the best out of everyone on the backline. Great passer all night and gave us new life when going forward...Matty: Still the best defender on the team and it shows...Abram: Becoming our best player. Not sure if it's because he actually is our best, or because we see him so often.
A.J. Soares: Average Rating - 4 (Corey 4, Matty 4, Abram 4)
Corey: His "goal" was nicely taken, but was not looking very sharp defensively. Was clearly an off-night...Matty: Just an off night, and quite frankly, didn't see many "big" stops from him...Abram: Not a whole lot to judge him on.
Andrew Farrell: Average Rating - 2.83 (Corey 3.5, Matty 3, Abram 2)
Corey: His worst outing yet. Lost Henry constantly. Made some good plays here and there but also some really poor decisions and was a generally sloppy passer...Matty: Worst game as a rookie. Henry set him up and played him like a fiddle on the goal...Abram: Ter-i-ble. Beat for speed by 35-year-old Thierry Henry, beaten for IQ by Johnny Steele. Looked to be man-marking Henry, which is an odd choice, but even going forward the kid was a mess.
Lee Nguyen: Average Rating - 4.5 (Corey 5, Matty 4, Abram 4.5)
Corey: Was actually much better than his last 5 games, and generated some good chances. Needs to take more shots when in from of the net though. Could stand to help out on defense a lot more as well...Matty: Had a great first 20 minutes where he looked up for it and aggressive, and then disappeared...Abram: Lee goes down way too easily. Needs to be stronger. Great delivery on the set piece for the goal, but invisible for large sections of the game.
Kalifa Cisse: Average Rating - 5.17 (Corey 5.5, Matty 5, Abram 5)
Corey: Actually a very nice night and gave the Revs the muscle they needed in the midfield. Wasn't AMAZING but was good and looked comfortable...Matty: Strong command of the center of the midfield, a little too emotional for me...Abram: Should have been sent off, but is bringing some backbone to this team.
Andy Dorman: Average Rating - 4 (Corey 4, Matty 4, Abram 4)
Corey: Quiet first half, better second half. But all in all wasn't his best. Still think he deserves another start...Matty: Quiet night, needs a little more time...Abram: In another world, his game would have been praised. However, this game saw his team get lit up.
Kelyn Rowe: Average Rating - 5.33 (Corey 5, Matty 4.5, Abram 6.5)
Corey: Pretty good game and was clearly the most dangerous attacker out there. Generated great chances. Disappeared too much though, and needs to step up his game on defense...Matty: Needs to play in the center of the park because he's simply being misused out there...Abram: Impeccable service tonight. Several great long and short passes. Served Jerry Bengtson and Saer Sene some great chances that they could not put away. He was much quieter when Toja came on, but I would have no problem seeing him lead the charge in the center.
Diego Fagundez: Average Rating - 3.5 (Corey 3, Matty 3.5, Abram 4)
Corey: In my opinion, the worst player on the pitch. Squandered chance after chance in the final third. Was basically the opposite of dangerous. Muscled off the ball easily. Punchless...Matty: Dribbled well, shifty pace, but in the end, he's still wasteful and far undersized...Abram: Like Lee, Diego is too wispy. He did have a nice pass in front of an open goal mouth that no one was near. Found it odd that he was subbed off just as I thought he was beginning to become effective.
Jerry Bengtson: Average Rating - 3.33 (Corey 3.5, Matty 3.5, Abram 3)
Corey: Incredibly disappointing. I'm done with this guy...Matty: Will the real Jerry Bengtson please stand up?...Abram: Terrible. Two golden opportunities. One his touch failed him, the other he tried to be too cute with. He had service tonight but did nothing with it. Made no runs. Feldman and Causey pointed something else out to me: he has no emotion. Makes me question his heart.
Stephen McCarthy: Average Rating - 3.67 (Corey 3.5, Matty 4, Abram 3.5)
Corey: Not very good. But perhaps that was just him being rusty...Matty: Tough spot to come in cold, especially after not playing for so long...Abram: You'd think last year's defender of the year coming in would shore things up. It didn't. Not terrible, but would have rather seen Barnes come in.
Juan Toja: Average Rating - 3.67 (Corey 3.5, Matty 4, Abram 3.5)
Corey: Did he play? I barely remember seeing him...Matty: He still has great vision, but his physical skills don't match his smarts...Abram: His entrance to the game immediately made everyone else seem worse. However, unlike Jerry, it looked like Juan is trying to do too much and over compensating. He needs to be a calming presence. He is not.
Saer Sene: Average Rating - 5 (Corey 5.5, Matty 4.5, Abram 5)
Corey: Actually looked very good and injected life into the Revs' attack...Matty: Still a dangerous threat, but until he's fully healthy, he's just a bit part...Abram: How much better do the Revs look with him on the pitch? I don't want to rush it, but when is he going to be starting again? Much more fun team to watch when he's in there.
These ratings were submitted on Sunday and Monday, and were collated late. Steve's at fault for that. More importantly, some of these opinions have been discussed already in other threads, so keep that in mind when you comment on how spot-on or off-base the ratings happen to be.
