Jay Heaps has opted for no changes from his New England Revolution lineup that won 2-1 last Saturday at Gillette Stadium as the Revs look advance into the Eastern Conference Final against Sporting Kansas City.
REVOLUTION LINEUP (4-1-4-1): Matt Reis; Darrius Barnes, Jose Goncalves, A.J. Soares, Andrew Farrell; Andy Dorman; Diego Fagundez, Lee Nguyen, Kelyn Rowe, Juan Agudelo; Dimitry Imbongo
Revs Bench: Shuttleworth, McCarthy, Simms, Caldwell, Bengtson, Barrett, Smith
SPORTING KC Lineup (4-3-3): Nielsen; Myers, Collin, Besler, Sinovic; Rosell, Nagamura, Feilhaber; Sapong, Dwyer, Zusi
SKC Bench: Kronberg, Opara, Jerome, Peterson, Bunbury, Saad, Bieler
Usual Revolution left backs Chris Tierney and Kevin Alston are both out with injury and unavailable, meaning Barnes will get his second straight start at that spot. The Revs attack on the left hand side in particular was almost non-existent, with Fagundez in particular left with little support as Barnes was staying at home to play defense.
Another important switch will be Imbongo starting the game up top and Agudelo switching out to the wing. This was a switch that Heaps deployed during halftime of the first game, resulting in a more potent Revs attack and two goals by Dorman and Rowe.
SKC will deploy a new three man attacking front, with Sapong, Dwyer and Zusi being the most advanced players supported by Feilhaber and Nagamura in the center of midfield.
Kickoff is scheduled for around 9PM, discuss the lineups and the game in the comments below.
