The New England Revolution will need to dig deep this afternoon against a playoff-bound Montreal Impact and secure 3 points at Stade Saputo if they hope to keep their post-season dreams alive. If the Revs can pull off a win, against the odds, they'd be doing their part, but will still need some help from D.C. United and FC Dallas who play the Philadelphia Union and Chicago Fire respectively.
The Revs will surely be coming into this match still bitter from last week's injustice at Red Bull Arena where referee Fotis Bazakos (now at the top of any Revolution fan's Most Wanted list) lost control of the game against the New York Red Bulls, leading to a controversial equalizing goal from Tim Cahill in stoppage time, robbing the Revs of 3 points. With that painful memory still fresh in their minds, New England will need to come out swinging and not let up for the full 90+ minutes if they want to have any chance of leaving Canada with 3 points tonight.
Montreal will be experimenting with their fullbacks tonight after declaring Jeb Brovsky out of the lineup earlier this week and with Hassoun Camara suspended for yellow card accumulation. But that's the only "break" the Revs will catch tonight as Patrice Bernier, Justin Mapp, and lethal goal-scorer Marco Di Vaio have all been deemed fit enough to play despite question marks earlier this week.
The Revolution will be thankful, however, that right-back Andrew Farrell is well enough to play after suffering a face contusion following a collision with Matt Reis' cleat last week in New York resulting from a cheap push in the box from Thierry Henry.
