The New England Revolution lost to the Houston Dynamo last night in a match saturated by driving rain. Despite creating more chances in the first half, the Revs dragged a 0-0 deadlock late into the second half, allowing the Dynamo to find two goals to stay ahead of Columbus in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt.

Thoughts on the match

"I thought we did a good job in the first half, putting pressure on their backline and not making it easy. As the game went on, the elements got harder and they took control of the game. We just weren't clean enough on the ball. We started sharp, but as the game went on we got a little more loose and that's what cost us. We couldn't keep the ball for an extended period of time."

On the team's attack

"I think we were without our real playmakers on the field tonight. No excuses. We had guys that were given a chance tonight and for some of that they did well, but they needed to a little more at the end.

Thoughts on the match

"I think we felt the heat a little bit. It's a different climate for sure. We made some mental mistakes out of fatigue that we wouldn't normally make. It's tough to handle because you see some balls that you know you could get to if you weren't feeling so drained. We tried to keep it in front of us the first half and we did pretty well. It was two fast break situations, which is tough when you are fatigued."

On the Dynamo pushing forward

"They needed the points bad and it showed. They pushed hard. You have guys running through and you have to be mentally aware of everyone around."

Thoughts on the match

"We wanted to be compact defensively. We knew they were a team that could score goals when they pushed forward, which is what they did tonight. We didn't want to foul them because they are good on set pieces. We wanted to take advantage when they threw numbers forward and I thought we did well with that tonight."

"We had some chances in the first half. Our forwards did well defending hard, but also getting the ball and creating. As the game went on, we just wore down a little bit. They started sending more numbers and by the end they got their two goals. Overall, I thought we performed well and put a good effort out. It wasn't the result we wanted but there were some good things in the game."
