With all of the talk leading up to this week's match revolving around the Revs' injuries and missing players, their first half performance certainly didn't resemble that of an undermanned squad.
Rain has poured down for long periods of time for most of the match, creating extremely slippery conditions, which have led to some unconventional chances in the first 45 minutes. While nothing has come from the few true scoring chances, you can't help but feel that the elements will have something to do with the final result tonight.
Benny Feilhaber gave the Revs their first solid scoring chance with his well-placed free kick in the 18th, and that was followed up a few moments later by Darrius Barnes' blunder in front of the Houston net, which truly should have put the Revs ahead.
On the Houston side of the ball, the Dynamo are struggling to find their rhythm, as the slippery conditions, as well as a well-organized Revolution back four have frustrated the home side in the first 45. Brad Davis has yet to leave his mark on this match thus far, but you can't expect that to continue in the second half.
