With an injury report longer than some Greek literature, Jay Heaps certainly had his work cut out for him tonight in Houston when assembling his starting lineup and bench. However, given what he had to work with, Revs fans can be quite pleased with the squad they'll see on the field.
The back four is solid, with all four healthy veterans getting the start. Kevin Alston and Darrius Barnes will be on the outside, with Stephen McCarthy and A.J. Soares in the middle of defense.
USMNT midfielder Benny Feilhaber makes his long awaited return to the starting lineup, and in a bit of a surprise, Clyde Simms passed his fitness test and will make the start in the center of the midfield. Joining them in the midfield will be two speedy wingers in Fernando Cardenas and Kelyn Rowe, playing on the left and right respectively.
Up top, it's the talismanic striker Jerry Bengtson getting the nod once again, however tonight he'll be joined by Dimitry Imbongo, who's replacing Diego Fagundez who started last Saturday night.
Recently acquired Juan Toja will begin the match on the bench, as will Blair Gavin, who has yet to see much action since his arrival from Chivas USA.
Kickoff is slated for 8:30 from Houston's BBVA Compass Stadium.
