After every match this season, the staff here at The Bent Musket will be putting together player ratings. Ratings are on a 1-10 scale, with 5 representing a thoroughly average performance, and 6 a decent/capable showing. The final ratings will be averages of individual ratings from Steve Stoehr, Matty Jollie, and Brendan Schimmel. Corey Major and Abram Chamberlain had to sit this one out.
Matt Reis: Average Rating - 4.17 (Steve 4.5, Matty 4.5, Brendan 3.5)
Steve: Not at fault on goals 2 and 3, but poor on the first goal and on set pieces overall...Matty: Late off his line on the Shalrie header, set piece organization still not there...Brendan: Awful on set pieces. Looked good on the one on one chances. Ready to see Bobby.
Chris Tierney: Average Rating - 5 (Steve 5, Matty 5, Brendan 5)
Steve: Good to see him getting forward and putting in quality deliveries...Matty: Good game from Chris. Whipping in crosses all night...Brendan: Great set pieces all night, whipping dipping stuff. 58% passing hurts score a little, though chalkboard can be misleading.
A.J. Soares: Average Rating - 4.67 (Steve 4.5, Matty 4.5, Brendan 5)
Steve: Solid, but the whole defense loses half a point for the third goal...Matty: Three goals against isn't good, obviously...Brendan: Not many touches. Some timely clearances.
Stephen McCarthy: Average Rating - 4.33 (Steve 4.5, Matty 4, Brendan 4.5)
Steve: See the Soares rating. Seems to be regressing from his great midsummer form...Matty: Positioning still an issue, and his physical presence in the air isn't overpowering like it should be with his size...Brendan: Wouldn't be against seeing D Barnes get a start at CB.
Kevin Alston: Average Rating - 5.33 (Steve 5, Matty 5.5, Brendan 5.5)
Steve: Generally good, but manhandled by Townsend on goal 3, no better than "ok" going forward...Matty: Even the commentators noticed he wasn't going forward as much, which leads to a solid defensive night...Brendan: Good recovery, needs to stop hitting his crosses on the first touch.

Kelyn Rowe: Average Rating - 5.83 (Steve 5.5, Matty 6, Brendan 6)
Steve: Attacking livewire, but disappeared as the second half wore on...Matty: Great night from the rookie with good pace and tenacity...Brendan: Great change of pace for the Revs attack, threatening all night.
Lee Nguyen: Average Rating - 5.83 (Steve 5.5, Matty 5.5, Brendan 6.5)
Steve: Was solid, but I want more from him. Perhaps more selfishness...Matty: Did well to create chances and be a a part of the attack. Need a little more selfishness from him sometimes...Brendan: Good movement with the ball. Instead of making bad passes he can dribble it into the attacking half.
Ryan Guy: Average Rating - 5 (Steve 5, Matty 5, Brendan 5)
Steve: Not his best outing. Always amazed, though, at his strength despite his size...Matty: Not thrilled with his output in center midfield. He's more of a wing player in my eyes...Brendan: 18/30 of passing. Weak. Lost track of Shalrie which led to his second goal.
Clyde Simms: Average Rating - 4.67 (Steve 4.5, Matty 4.5, Brendan 5)
Steve: Not very involved. As the defensive midfielder, have to attribute some blame on the goals to him...Matty: Not as involved as I'd like him to be...Brendan: I don't know what he's doing out there. 22 touches total? Some subs almost had more.
Saer Sene: Average Rating - 7.17 (Steve 8, Matty 7, Brendan 6.5)
Steve: You score the goals, you get the rating, and what spectacular goals they were...Matty: Two goals, probably should have had a third, good effort from the Frenchman...Brendan: Great opportunistic goals, still chooses to trip over himself rather than use his right.
Jerry Bengtson: Average Rating - 6.33 (Steve 6.5, Matty 6, Brendan 6.5)
Steve: Man did he look lively, especially in the first half. Hard work led to Sene's second, chased every ball, looked useful and dangerous...Matty: Caused a stir all night in the box, showed off a little dribbling ability. The Bengtson/Sene partnership is growing nicely...Brendan: Aggressive, still not sure if he knows how to get the ball. Often stands in the box rather than making runs.
Fernando Cardenas (sub): Average Rating - 4.67 (Steve 4.5, Matty 4.5, Brendan 5)
Steve: Had moments, but not his most impactful outing of the season...Matty: Much ado about nothing...Brendan: Couldn't get it done on the ground tonight.
Benny Feilhaber (sub): Average Rating - 4.5 (Steve 4.5, Matty 5, Brendan 4)
Steve: Some danger, some complaining, and for crying out loud, SHOOT...Matty: Played well, should have scored the goal, and for the love of god stop complaining to the refs and costing your team an opportunity...Brendan: Loses points because once again his opting to complain and whine to the ref left him in an offside position for the cross that came to him. Should have pulled the trigger earlier on both chances.
Diego Fagundez (sub): Average Rating - 5.17 (Steve 5, Matty 5, Brendan 5.5)
Steve: Seems to get up for playing against Chivas. Had some real nice moments...Matty: Applied good pressure to the back line with his fresh legs...Brendan: Menacing, trying to get a little too cute sometimes.
