After every match this season, the staff here at The Bent Musket will be putting together player ratings. Ratings are on a 1-10 scale, with 5 representing a thoroughly average performance, and 6 a decent/capable showing. The final ratings will be averages of individual ratings from Steve Stoehr, Matty Jollie, and Abram Chamberlain. Brendan Schimmel is sitting out due to his Rebellion commitments.

Bobby Shuttleworth: Average Rating - 6.25 (Steve 6.5, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram 6.5)

Steve: Commanding in the air, communicated well, rarely tested but best from him I've ever seen...Corey: Good in the air, smart, communicative. Very nice...Matty: Clean sheet, commanded the box well...Abram: Kept a clean sheet and was a monster in the air. I am totally comfortable if he is the heir apparent to Matt Reis.

Chris Tierney: Average Rating - 6.75 (Steve 7, Corey 7, Matty 6.5, Abram 6.5)

Steve: Handled Richards like a boss, and is now the team assists leader. Great all-around game...Corey: A really solid game from CT. Had the answers for Dane Richards more often than not. Quality performance...Matty: Is it just me or is he getting better defensively?...Abram: I am more and more with Tierney. The guy has no pace, but does so well with his positioning that someone with the speed of Dane Richards didn't get many good chances.

A.J. Soares: Average Rating - 6.75 (Steve 7, Corey 6.5, Matty 6.5, Abram 7)

Steve: Great marking, great tackling, great distribution, nearly scored, helped earn the shutout...Corey: Much improved compared to the last couple. Great in the air. Almost bagged a goal...Matty: AJ went beast mode, which is much more what we're used to seeing...Abram: This is more like the AJ Soares I have grown to love. If only he got a goal.

Stephen McCarthy: Average Rating - 7 (Steve 7, Corey 7, Matty 7, Abram 7)

Steve: Again a solid rock, the confidence in him is palpable even from the press box...Corey: Another solid game. Color me impressed. Again...Matty: Becoming a proto-type CB: tall, strong, and a little attitude...Abram: While I love the idea of bringing Boca to Boston (or Foxboro as the case may be), I'm really appreciating the CB that McCarthy is becoming.

Kevin Alston: Average Rating - 5.875 (Steve 6, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram 5.5)

Steve: Better positioning, good defense, should have had an assist. All around good outing...Corey: Also had a good game. Should have had an assist. Great defensive game from Kevin...Matty: Love his decision making on his timing going forward. Positioning continues to improve...Abram: From where I sat, his positioning seemed great. Good on defense, decent going forward. Can't ask for much more.

Lee Nguyen: Average Rating - 7.375 (Steve 8, Corey 7.5, Matty 7, Abram 7)

Steve: Sick goal, excellent and assured possession and passing all night. He dominates the left with Tierney...Corey: Was all over the place. Very creative and effective in the final third. Presence was there all night...Matty: I had to watch Lee's goal at least four times to see just exactly what the ball did. Sick swerve, great strike. Dangerous the entire night...Abram: If every time Lee scores his goals look like that, I'll love him. He could quietly be making a case for Newcomer of the Year.

Clyde Simms: Average Rating - 6 (Steve 5.5, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram 6.5)

Steve: Steady, solid, plugged holes. Didn't get the touches we're used to, but passing wasn't bad...Corey: Still a touch or two off at times but had a good night. Was pretty involved in most plays on both sides of the ball...Matty: I really like the fact that we have depth behind Shalrie, and with Clyde playing well, it's great to not have to rush the Captain back on the field...Abram: a little slow, a few poor touches, but the guy is so calm on the ball and on defense that I don't know how we lived without him.

Benny Feilhaber: Average Rating - 5.5 (Steve 5, Corey 6, Matty 5.5, Abram 5.5)

Steve: Had a good first half but faded, then threw a fit. Should have finished his chance...Corey: Not his best but still above average. Shoulda had a goal. Disappeared a little in the 2nd half...Matty: Tale of two halves for Benny. First half was what we've loved seeing, second half was the soccer brat we don't like...Abram: Great first half, nearly invisible second half, and an unneeded hissy fit when subbed off.

Kelyn Rowe: Average Rating - 4.5 (Steve 4, Corey 4.5, Matty 5, Abram 4.5)

Steve: Looked lost out there. Not detrimental, but contributed almost nothing to the effort. Maybe still hurting?...Corey: Hardly did much of anything until the end when he was sprung into the box twice. Should have been subbed out instead of Benny IMHO...Matty: Didn't seem himself at all. Post-concussion problems?...Abram: Rowe was gassed around the 30th minute. He was effective early, but was not stellar. Perhaps needs more recovery time?

Blake Brettschneider: Average Rating - 4.875 (Steve 4, Corey 6, Matty 5, Abram 4.5)

Steve: Good movement, good touches and hold-up play, great effort, should have had a good outing. But a striker cannot miss that many golden chances. That is a failure...Corey: better game than most may give him credit for. Made a lot of things happen early in. Also couldn't finish ANYTHING. Got really beat up as well. Still think he had a nice outing all in all...Matty: Not as harsh on him as others. While his chances were in front of goal, they were all pretty chaotic and under fire...Abram: Hold up play was eh, but as a forward he needs to do better finishing open chances two feet from the goal mouth.

Saer Sene: Average Rating - 6.5 (Steve 6, Corey 6.5, Matty 6.5, Abram 7)

Steve: Integral to the offense tonight, even if he missed a great chance. Jerry's goal was all Saer...Corey: Much better than last game. Very effective passing. Still very frustrating in the box at times. Probably should have had between 1 and 3 goals tonight...Matty: Dangerous, good dribbling runs, played well off of his strike partner...Abram: No he didn't score, but he was instrumental in the Bengtson goal. Looked much more comfortable playing out wide.

Jerry Bengtson (sub): Average Rating - 7 (Steve 7, Corey 7, Matty 7, Abram 7)

Steve: Already looks worth the cash. Dull spots were due more to lack of familiarity with teammates than anything else...Corey: Looked fast. Good runs on and off the ball. Bagged the simple goal which basically no one else seems to be able to do. More please...Matty: I love strikers who have a knack for "dirty-work" goals. Felt electric every time he had a chance to make something happen...Abram: Had a classic poachers goal, which is what he was brought in for. Looked dangerous every time the Revs possessed the ball.

Shalrie Joseph (sub): Average Rating - 6 (Steve 6, Corey 6.5, Matty 5.5, Abram 6)

Steve: Had energy when everyone else was getting gassed, benefit of being a sub. Played simple, was key in creating Bengtson's goal...Corey: Kept it simple. Calmed things down. Was pretty clearly still feeling a little injured but did well to help the Revs keep their cool and see the game out...Matty: So strange to see Shalrie come off the bench, but what a great sub. Looked a little rusty, but his play was solid...Abram: A surprising sub, that worked incredibly well.

Diego Fagundez (sub): Average Rating - N/A (not enough time to make an impact)

Steve: Little editor's note - disappointing the kid didn't get a goal or an assist on his bobblehead night. Oh well.
