After every match this season, the staff here at The Bent Musket will be putting together player ratings. Ratings are on a 1-10 scale, with 5 representing a thoroughly average performance, and 6 a decent/capable showing. The final ratings will be averages of individual ratings from Steve Stoehr, Corey Major, Matty Jollie, Abram Chamberlain, and Brendan Schimmel.

Matt Reis: Average Rating - 7.6 (Steve 8, Corey 8, Matty 8, Abram 7, Brendan 7)

Steve: Only answer for Castillo and Shea, good positioning and better saves, deserved a shutout...Corey: Mostly the reason that we were still in the game for so long. Looked on point when mostly everyone else looked off...Matty: Am I the only one thinking Reis actually kept the Revs alive for that long?...Abram: not much you can do when you let in a goal THREE MINUTES AFTER STOPPAGE TIME IS OVER...Brendan: Came up big as usual and stellar performances are expectation at this point.

Chris Tierney: Average Rating - 6.3 (Steve 6, Corey 6.5, Matty 7, Abram 6, Brendan 6)

Steve: Looked solid, but can be too predictable at times...Corey: Slightly above average performance, still showing that he deserves to start at LB for this team. Still believe he will continue to progress...Matty: Another player I'm coming around on. Developing into good LB...Abram: Another solid, if unspectacular, outing...Brendan: Another good game from Tierney. Showing some variety on the ball. People expect the left footed early cross, tonight we saw him cut back on to his right and fake cross it a few times allowing him to create better chances and angles.

A.J. Soares: Average Rating - 7.3 (Steve 7.5, Corey 7.5, Matty 7.5, Abram 7, Brendan 7)

Steve: A monster in the back, last three matches have been Defender of the Year caliber...Corey: Want to say he was MOTM, but it's tough. Even so, he is a sophomore and plays like a vet on the backline, which is so valuable for this team right now...Matty: Stud performance. Steady hand at the back...Abram: Man of the Match. Devastating foul at the end, but when it comes THREE MINUTES AFTER STOPPAGE TIME IS OVER, against a noted flopper, I'm willing to let it slide...Brendan: AJ was on point for 93 minutes.

Stephen McCarthy: Average Rating - 5.9 (Steve 6, Corey 6.5, Matty 6.5, Abram 5, Brendan 5.5)

Steve: Positioning and marking progressing nicely, tackling and distribution also good...Corey: Made some good plays, but didn't look quite as comfortable in this one...Matty: Continues to progress. Good strength, positioning needs more time...Abram: Very average performance, at times he looked like a converted midfielder, at other times like a real-live-center-back...Brendan: I'm liking the duo more and more. Some panicky passing in the back sometimes, though.

Florian Lechner: Average Rating - 4 (Steve 4, Corey 4, Matty 5, Abram 3, Brendan 4)

Steve: Torn up by Castillo and Shea early, didn't contribute as much to attack as hoped...Corey: Looked slow and old. Didn't really add much to the right side on the attack. I think everyone expects much more out of him. I guess there's still a grace period for him to adjust to MLS though...Matty: Hope this was just jitters. He can't be that slow and unaware...Abram: Consistently beat down the flanks, poor, poor crosses. Hopefully first start nerves, because he's making Alston look world-class...Brendan: Was roasted on the outside, very poor touch and passing in the first half and his forward runs left us exposed. FCD found the weak link early and exploited it.

Lee Nguyen: Average Rating - 6.4 (Steve 6, Corey 7, Matty 6.5, Abram 6, Brendan 6.5)

Steve: Did well but didn't show the same creativity and skill of the last few games...Corey: Didn't look as dangerous as he has in the last 4 games...Matty: A fairly pedestrian performance in comparison to what we've grown used to...Abram: Looked heads-and-shoulders above national teamer Brek Shea. Great through ball to Guy should've led to a winner...Brendan: Spread the field well and plays really well off Tierney. Had a couple good chances on net/face.

Clyde Simms: Average Rating - 6.2 (Steve 6, Corey 6.5, Matty 6.5, Abram 6.5, Brendan 6)

Steve: Might be the first time I've seen him badly misplace a pass, but still the needed steady presence in midfield...Corey: Slightly above average, but nothing special...Matty: Typical Simms. Professional job done, nothing special...Abram: 42 of 53 passes completed, very solid, workmanlike performance from Simms...Brendan: Consistent, accurate distribution. Reliable.

Shalrie Joseph: Average Rating - 6 (Steve 6.5, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram 6, Brendan 5.5)

Steve: Should he have played the ball out? Perhaps, but otherwise a decent game...Corey: Looked a step slow at times and made some poor decisions, the most obvious one being in the 93rd minute...Matty: Another one of those odd, off-paced nights. Looked a bit slow against pace...Abram: If the Revs had won, Shalrie would have probably been given a 7, but with the loss (fair or not) he takes a point hit...Brendan: Completed 61 of 71 passes. Workhorse. Nothing too memorable came from his creativity.

Kelyn Rowe: Average Rating - 5.5 (Steve 5, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram N/A, Brendan 5)

Steve: Moments of danger interspersed with a lot of poor decisions and rookie mistakes...Corey: Looked like a rookie again...Matty: Tough night. Rookie game for him...Brendan: Very poor touch in the first half. Should have attacked space given to him instead of forcing early pass. Not worried.

Ryan Guy: Average Rating - 5.2 (Steve 5, Corey 6, Matty 6.5, Abram 4, Brendan 4.5)

Steve: Touch started poor but got better, never really got into the game though...Corey: Mostly ineffective. Total phantom out there...Matty: After garnering some praise from me last week, Guy falls a bit back to Earth...Abram: He's out there partially for offense, but more for defending from the back, which he didn't do well today...Brendan: Ryan Guy Express seemed to lose some steam this game. Overall we weren't pressing FC Dallas this game and pressing a defense is where Guy shines.

Saer Sene: Average Rating - 5.3 (Steve 4.5, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram 5, Brendan 5)

Steve: Looked slow and tired from the first minute, touch was off, unimpressive overall...Corey: Lost possession. Not much hustle. At times reminded me of Lekic. Looked like he was super tired after 20 minutes...Matty: Is it possible he still isn't match fit? It's April...Abram: he had a laser of a shot from an awkward angle early in the first half. A very curious substitution around the 60th minute just when he started to get rolling. How long until he's 90-minutes-fit...Brendan: Would have liked to see him hold the ball more rather than one touch it back to the source. Forwards need shots on goal. 1 is not enough. Does he look 100% to anyone yet?

Fernando Cardenas (sub): Average Rating - 5.7 (Steve 5, Corey 6, Matty 6.5, Abram 6, Brendan 5)

Steve: All speed and energy, less the end product. Tries to do too much when his creativity would be better served with simplicity...Corey: Did what he does, which is run around a lot. Decent. Matty: Another Energizer bunny performance. His role seems pretty straightforward...Abram: I love his role, I don't love that him coming on led to Sene coming off. Lots of running, which is what he does. Eventually the running will lead to a goal. Right?...Brendan: 16 of 20 passing as a sub. This dude is really small.

Jose Moreno (sub): Average Rating - 5.4 (Steve 6, Corey 6, Matty 6, Abram 4, Brendan 5)

Steve: Gets the 6 because he looked much, much sharper and hungrier than expected. Vicious shot, too...Corey: Heart skipped a beat when he cracked that shot at goal (mostly because the Comcast cameras were so slow). Looked way less lackadaisical that I expected. Want to see more...Matty: Nice shot. Better than I expected. Still has his nickname though...Abram: Pepe's debut was unmemorable. Launched a rocket at Kevin Hartman, and then pretty much disappeared. If he and Sene are ever fully match-fit it will make for an interesting conundrum...Brendan: One nice shot, not enough to judge him off.

Jeremiah White (sub): Average Rating - N/A (Not enough time to make an impact)
