New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls: Preseason Live Thread

The New England Revolution are looking to follow-up Wednesday night's positive performance against the Los Angeles Galaxy when they take on the New York Red Bulls tonight in game two of the Desert Diamond Cup on Tucson, AZ. New York is coming off of a 0-0 draw with Pumas UNAM earlier this week at Chase Field.

Tonight's match is another important step for the Revs as they approach the regular season. Head coach Jay Heaps has said that he plans to make greater use of some of his new trialists in this match, meaning that this could be an excellent opportunity for New England fans to get a good look at the guys who might be filling out roster spots 25-28. Among the hopefuls will be former Arsenal prospect Tom Cruise, who was an unused substitute against LA but will almost certainly see time against the Red Bulls.

Another candidate for minutes may be winger Ryan Guy, who has recovered sufficiently from a calf injury to rejoin his teammates for full training. Heaps may decide, however, that tonight's match would be too much too soon and hold Guy out until Wednesday's tilt against Real Salt Lake. He's already made that decision concerning A.J. Soares and Kevin Alston, both of whom have returned to full training after suffering injuries, but are unlikely to see the field this evening.

Lineups will be posted in the comments as they become available. Join us after the jump for our live blog and chat along with the guys from New England Soccer Today!
