Revolution vs. Fire Halftime: Revs Still Leading After Fagundez Goal

The Revolution managed to put in a solid first 45 minutes thus far, and look eager for more goals to add to Diego Fagundez's 17th minute cracker. The most encouraging effort came from a 33rd minute Kevin Alston shot. Alston did well to work his way up the left side of the pitch and pass to Dimitry Imbongo who was waiting, back-to-goal, at the top of the box. Imbongo played Alston into the box from there but Kevin was unable to get a good enough angle and the shot sailed above the crossbar.

Blair Gavin has had perhaps the most notable performance so far. The newcomer has made some impressive runs to help the Revs push forward on coutner attacks and has been crucial in breaking up the Fire's passes in the center of the pitch. On top of that, Gavin has also been a contributor defensively as well as on free kicks.

If the Revs can hold onto this lead, they may just be able to tally their 9th win of the season, something the fans will surely be happy to witness being that tonight is fan appreciation night at Gillette Stadium. Fun fact: the Revs are 5-1-1 when leading at the half.
