Goal New England! Fagundez Unleashes a Firecracker from Distance to put Revs up 1-0

After a lackluster opening to the match by both sides, the New England Revolution opened the scoring by way of an absolute howler from boy wonder Diego Fagundez in the 17th minute. The shot, from 25 yards out, was assisted by Kelyn Rowe.

The Revolution's opening goal seemed to ride on the wake of Bobby Shuttleworth's save just a few minutes before when he came off his line to pluck out a Fire cross into the box. From there, the Revs played the ball out of the back-field and found Rowe, who seemed to be in the process of swapping wings with Fagundez. Once Fagundez found himself with a bit of space, the MLS sophomore let a shot sail from distance and Fire keeper Sean Johnson couldn't stretch far enough to stop it.

New England will certainly hope they can hang onto this lead, but Chicago looks hungry to answer back.
