USA vs. Guatemala: Live Game Thread

The United States Men's National Team is taking on Guatemala at Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City on Tuesday night. The match carries heavy implications for World Cup Qualifying, as the Yanks will be looking to guarantee their advance into the Hex.

Hello everybody and welcome to our United States vs. Guatemala live blog! Tonight's match is serious for fans of the National team; a loss, depending on goal differential and the results of the Jamaica vs. Antigua match, could put the USA out of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying tournament even before the Hexagonal round. It would mark the first time the Nats have failed to make an appearance at the World Cup Finals since 1990, a period of time that spans six tournaments.

To put that into perspective, France, England, Portugal, and the Netherlands - among others - have missed tournaments in that span. In fact, very few teams have a running streak as impressive as the Yanks'. It would be a travesty to see that evaporate tonight in Kansas City against a markedly inferior team like Los Chapines.
