New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls: Live Game Thread!

Welcome to the New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls live game thread! Tonight the Revs face a stern test against a star-studded Red Bulls lineup that, even without marquee DP Thierry Henry, is positively oozing with talent and quality. New York has had a disappointing season thus far, sitting just nine points above the Revs in the East in 5th place when many picked them to be MLS Cup contenders. The Revs, on the other hand, will be looking to solve their late-match woes after Wednesday, when they yet again let a lead slip away in the late stages of a game.

I'm going to change gears a little this week and postulate that the key to the game for the Revs in tonight's clash is going to be fearlessness. The Revolution hasn't been much of an attacking team this season and when they get ahead, they tend to retreat into a shell that ends up preventing them from taking all three points. Tonight, New England needs bloodlust. They need to score early and then press to score again. A one goal lead just won't cut it. Furthermore, the Revs will be without the services of goalkeeper Matt Reis, so they may need a larger cushion if they expect to take points from this match.

The injury report from Thursday lists Kheli Dube, Franco Coria and Sainey Nyassi as out. Chris Tierney and Rajko Lekic are probable.
