Jake Catanese

Staff Writer

A longtime Connecticut native, Jake Catanese has been playing soccer in various recreational leagues and was a varisty team member at Trumbull (CT) HS as a senior. Realizing his tremendous lack of technical skill with the soccer ball he changed his career to a hybrid journalist/referee in college, taking classes and working intramural games at Rider Univ. and is now a USSF certified Grade 8 (entry level) referee and part time student at Southern Conn. State Univ. Jake covered the USMNT and MLS on his old personal blog "The Eagle's Blog Has Landed" at's Community page before joining The Bent Musket. Jake fell in love with the Revs back in the days when Steve Ralston was setting up Taylor Twellman and has a strong hatred for a energy drink (unless paired with Jager). When not writing, driving around killing bugs or selling baseball tickets, you can probably find him playing FIFA as the Revs or some scrub fourth division team in England.
