DC is hosting Chicago and Houston is hosting Montreal. We need a DC win and a Montreal win to help us.
DC is in an interesting position: They have already salvaged their season with the US Open Cup win. As a result they could bag their next 4 games. Or they could get real motivated and finish the season like a storm. I am not sure what to expect. I think that this is the game they are the most likely to win because of the momentum of winning the Cup. Of course, they could all be on vacation already.
This one is also a puzzle. Houston does not have the home invincibility they used to have. Montreal however, has been playing not great since a torrid start of the season. As a result, a tie could be the most likely outcome, helping both teams. Montreal needs some points tonight because the rest of their schedule is brutal. They will play next the Revs which I believe have a strong chance of beaten them. After that they travel to LA (never easy trip) before receiving Phily which will also be fighting for point. They close with Toronto which would love to knock them out of contention. So although Montreal looks like a shoe-in, they could be the surprise miss of the season.
Remember how Chicago and Columbus were left for dead early in the season only to be in the thick of the playoff chase.
