Only four months removed from the end of one of the worst seasons in franchise history and already the New England Revolution are competing for silverware! Not meaningful silverware, mind, but a trophy all the same. After posting a perfect 3-0-0 record with seven goals and a plus-four goal differential, the Revs are about to take on the L.A. Galaxy in the Desert Diamond Cup final. New England already defeated LA in an exciting 3-2 contest a week and a half ago, and will look to repeat that success tonight and end the preseason on a high note.
Tonight's match will likely be the last chance several players have to impress the coaches enough for a contract, although team sources have already indicated that several player signings will be announced early next week. Blake Brettschneider may already be one of them, as he announced last night over his twitter account that New England is going to be home.
The match is streaming live on MLSsoccer.com at 10 PM EST. Join us and leave your comments after the jump!
