Here is a great article from Sean Donahue of NE Soccer Today, describing the 4 players added to the practice squad and trying out. http://nesoccertoday.com/?p=8694
The one thing that jump to me is how similar they are to Jama Gay in profile. They all went to Europe and none of them really had prolonged success. Some might have trained with great clubs, some might have single shining moment but none have had successive years of success.
I wonder it if it the new policy of the F.O. to go after European rejects and hope to get a diamond in the rough. Hey it worked with Zerka pretty well (which is why we cut him).
A positive is that all of these guys are on the right side of 30. At least we have learned from the Dabo, Domi and Jankauskas disasters.
The one downside of going after rejects is that it does not create buzz (and this team desperately need positive buzz).
The big plus is that these guys will be relatively cheap and will little downside risk.
In the meantime, I keep looking at LA and NY recruitment policy and drool.
