The New England Revolution will be remembering the ten-year anniversary of the horrific terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001 with a "Salute To Heroes" series of events during their home match against FC Dallas on Saturday. The club has distributed over 3500 tickets to men and women in the US Armed Services for the match, and you can join them by clicking the "Tickets" tab on the red navigation bar above.
Apart from the tickets sold, events and contests will be going on all throughout Patriot Place and Gillette Stadium before, during and after the match. The full list is as follows (taken directly from the official press release):

- The Army and Marines will set up pull-up bars for fan competitions
- The Army will provide a dog-tag machine for fans to get custom tags
- Cell Phones for Soldiers will be on hand to collect gently-used cell phones for use by soldiers overseas
- The first 5,000 fans in the gate will receive a small American flag
- A pre-match moment of silence will be observed in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11/01
- The New Hampshire State Police will be the night's honor guard
- A large United States flag will be unfurled on the pitch during the national anthem
In-game
- All players, coaches and match officials will wear black armbands with a "9/11 Memorial" graphic
- The Army and Marine Corps will perform enlistment ceremonies at halftime
- Members from both military branches will face off in a half-time penalty-kick contest and tug-of-war
- Autographed merchandise from the Revolution and FC Dallas, along with a donated outdoor grill from Bass Pro Shops, will be raffled on the concourse to benefit the United Service Organization (U.S.O.)
Post-game

- Autographed game-worn jerseys from Matt Reis, Shalrie Joseph and Benny Feilhaber will be auctioned off along with their 9/11 armbands, with the proceeds going to the 9/11 Memorial Fund
Please join all of us in remembering those who lost their lives on September 11th and honoring the servicemen and servicewomen still defending our rights today. I know I'll be there.

Nice
Just goes to show we as fans can complain all we want about this season and last year etc but in reality it’s just a game; it’s a sporting event that makes people happy and these soldiers are giving all they can for us to complain about but also cheer for our favorite teams. This also shows how 9/11 shouldn’t be remembered by people being sad, yes the moments of silence are necessary but we need to move on and remember 9/11 by honoring our military and do what we Americans love, enjoy this sporting event win lose or draw and hopefully with this and other things soccer can continue its American growth!
Agreed with cbrown
Thanks for your comment cbrown4747. That’s why I love baseball. I remember times when things were different and we couldn’t stand each other. We ought to enjoy our game but should never forget the things that really matter.
You're welcome
and thanks for recognizing my comment. I also forgot to mention it’s equally important to honor other types of people like first responders, victims, the incredibly noble and brave passengers on the flight that fought back on one of the planes etc not just the military.
I also respect baseball and I admire how it’s been around for so long and all teams have loyal and dedicated fans regardless if they hardly win and hope MLS can achieve this one day so myself, my (future) kids and grandkids can finally see the Revs win a championship ;)
