New England Revolution vs. Houston Dynamo: Live Game Thread

Welcome to the New England Revolution vs. Houston Dynamo live game thread! Tonight features a familiar foe, and the still-raw wounds of the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup Final losses often open and fester again when these two teams meet. The Revs are coming off a disappointing loss to the Columbus Crew where they lost 3-1 after taking a first-half lead. They'll want to put that performance behind them and try to recapture some measure of home form against a Houston Dynamo team that has hauled itself up to third place in the East and is on a bit of a roll.

Apologies for the short preamble, but lineups and your comments after the jump.

Star-divide

Lineups

Revolution: Reis; Alston, Barnes, Cochrane, Soares; Boggs, Joseph, Feilhaber, Tierney; Mansally, Caraglio

Bench: Shuttleworth, Fagundez, Guy, McCarthy, Phelan, Schilawski, Sousa

Dynamo: Hall; Freeman, Boswell, Hainault, Taylor; Watson, Moffat, Cameron, Davis; Ching, Weaver

Bench: Deric, Ashe, Carr, Costly, Dixon, Robinson, Sarkodie

Looks like a straight 4-4-2

Whether by necessity or by design, I’m happy it’s happened again

Injury report, by the way

Coria, Lekic and Nyassi are all listed as out. No one was probable or questionable.

Greetings from FLA

vicious T-Storms have knocked out most of the power in the area…somehow I still have internet, but with 48% battery on the MacBook.

Nicol currently talking about possession

Feels that Houston is getting too much. Glad he’s on the same page with everyone else.

Some first half thoughts:

Getting the early goal was real good, but otherwise the team didn’t look too encouraging. Dynamo have had most of the possession and the majority of the chances. Revs aren’t making good decisions with the ball at any part of the field, let alone the final third, and they aren’t getting to the latter often enough. Alston has been sloppy, but no one really stands out as exemplary except possibly Caraglio and Soares.

Houston's possession: 65%

And the Revs have only had six shots, three of which came in the first five minutes. That’s real bad.

Phelan for...Cochrane?

Is he playing in defense?

McCarthy is on

Revs no longer care about offense, which means they will inevitably concede an equalizer
