Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

I made an appearance on the Midnight Ride podcast with Hank Alexandre after a long hiatus. We talked mostly about the expansion draft, management changes, and future coaching prospects. Give it a listen.

Nice job on the podcast

My only issue: When you said it might be okay to leave Lekic unprotected because of his lack of goals and his price might be unattractive to Montreal, remember that a lot of expansion teams pick players in the expansion draft and immediately trade them! So for me Lekic MUST be protected regardless if we want him here again or not (I would personally like him back).

Maybe

But his salary and lack of goals isn’t just unattractive to Montreal. It would be tough to dangle him as trade bait, too, for the same reasons. It’s just a lot of money in a hard-cap league to tie up in one roster spot for 6 goals in 23 games. If you definitely want him back, he has to be protected, but I’m saying there’s a real good chance he’d be left alone anyway.

Also...

I don’t know if the answer I’m about to give you would satisfy your question of if a person said they definitely didn’t want the coaching job (besides Mariner) but Jimmy Conrad tweeted he wasn’t going to throw in his name because of his disliking of football lines and out of respect to Nicol. I wouldn’t have wanted him anyway.

Satisfies it.

I had actually heard some things about people declaring their lack of interest in the job, but I didn’t find anything concrete. That would be something concrete, so I appreciate it. And I don’t blame him.
