Tuesday Links

From this point forward I am going to work hard to provide regular posts with links to interesting stories concerning the Revolution, New England soccer and the game in general. At the moment, the plan is to do these on Tuesdays and Thursdays but that could change depending on how things shake out. Also, I’m trying to think of a witty title. Moving on.

Kyle McCarthy gives his Revs’ best & worst of 2010 [mlssoccer.com]

Kyle also did a quick Q&A session with Coach Nicol. Per usual, Stevie gives a blunt and straightforward assessment of his side’s performance this season [mlssoccer.com]

Ever the busy man, McCarthy even managed to provide an offseason checklist of what the Revs need to do to improve for 2011 [mlssoccer.com]

This is a few days old, but worth reading again. Frank Dell’Apa interviewed Revs alumnus Jeff Larentowicz in the aftermath of his MLS Cup success, and he had some words to say about the Revolution’s contract policies that are both unfortunate and unsurprising [Corner Kicks Blog]

Jason Davis explains why he’s tired of MLS execs using the word "brand" all the time [Match Fit USA]

Alan Jacobs likens the play of Barcelona in the recent Clasico to slime mold. In a flattering way. [Run Of Play]

As D-Day for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids fast approaches, Jacob from UF gives an in-depth analysis of Russia’s 2018 bid. While you’re there, have a look at the analysis of the rest of the bidders as well [Unprofessional Foul]

USMNT midfielder Jermaine Jones, who recently switched allegiances from Germany and made an excellent USA debut, is now playing in the Schalke reserves [ESPN]

Also in the USMNT picture, forgotten man Jonathan Spector started against Manchester United for West Ham in the Carling Cup today and scored a stunning brace to vault himself back into the limelight. [Fanhouse Soccer]
